What is Reduced Power Standby Mode?

It is possible to put a Wi-Fi connected Robot into a temporary Reduced Power Standby Mode, by turning off all functionality except charging. This allows your robot to consume less power when not being used and may be helpful if you are not planning to use the robot for an extended period of time (for example, if you are going on vacation.)

 

When your robot is in this state, the iRobot® HOME App will be unable to connect to it, and any scheduled cleanings will be suspended. The iRobot® HOME App will say “The Cloud cannot talk to (robot name). Try again later.” Within one (1) minute of being in Reduced Power Standby Mode

 

If you press CLEAN while your robot is on the dock to start a cleaning job while in Reduced Power Standby Mode, it will perform a regular cleaning job. After running for 1 minute Reduced Power Standby Mode is disabled, if the robot goes back to dock after less than 1 minute it will remain in Reduced Power Standby Mode

 

Roomba® j series and Combo 10 Max:

To put your robot into reduced power standby mode, remove the dust bin and tap the clean button 5 times.

All other models:

Roomba® 600-900, e, i, s, and Essentials series

To put your robot into reduced power standby mode, place it on the dock and hold SPOT Clean on the robot for 15 seconds. You will hear a tone, confirming the activated mode.
