Error 451 means the clean water tank on the dock doesn’t have enough water. Without clean water, replenishment is not possible. Please remove, refill, and reinsert the clean water dock tank.

 

  1. Completely remove the clean water tank from the dock.

  1. Fill water to the maximum level.

Verify that the float inside the tank moves freely up and down. Make sure there are no foreign objects inside the tank that may prevent the float from moving freely.

IMPORTANT:  The solution reservoir is meant for the StayClean™ Mopping Concentrate Solution ONLY. Do NOT use other solutions in this reservoir. Any other compatible solutions should be added directly to the clean water tank. Or, you may opt to dose the water reservoir with part water, part approved compatible cleaning solution.   1. Fully re-insert the tank back into the dock.
  2. Remove the robot from its dock for just a moment and place it back in, ensuring the robot is secure and making contact with the charging ports. The robot should announce that it is charging.

  1. Close and re-open the app. Then try refilling the robot again.

 

If the error persists, please reboot the robot through the app or by holding down the power button on the robot for 10 seconds while it is off the dock. Hold the button again for 3 seconds to turn it back on. Doing so should clear the error from the robot's memory. Try running Roomba® again.

 

If you performed all troubleshooting steps, but your dock still does not work properly, please contact iRobot Customer Care.  
 
For expedited service, please have the following ready: 

  • Your robot charged and with you 
  • Your robot's Serial number
  • For warranty claims: Proof of purchase (receipt or invoice for purchase from an authorized retailer)
