"Clear the brushes, then press clean.”
Error 2 means the main brush cannot turn. Please clean the brushes regularly, at least once per week.
Note: Thick carpet or high-pile rugs can potentially slow Roomba's brush down too much, preventing it from spinning and resulting in an error 2. If you notice your robot says error 2 while on carpet, please also test Roomba on a hard floor to see if the issue persists.
For step-by-step instructions on how to remove and clean the main brush, please visit the link for your model below.
If the error 2 persists after cleaning the brush, please reboot the robot by holding down the power button on the robot for 10 seconds while the robot is off the dock. Hold the button again for 3 seconds to turn it back on. Doing so should clear the error from the robot's memory. Try running Roomba® again.
If the error still persists after cleaning and rebooting, you may need a replacement brush. We recommend replacing the main brush every 6–12 months, or as needed. Please visit the iRobot Store - Parts and Accessories or use an authorized retailer to order the brush.
