Error 35 means your robot tried to detect the pad that is attached, but the robot was unable to detect a valid pad. Please ensure the pad is properly installed and you are using authentic iRobot pads. If the robot stops detecting the pad during a cleaning job, ensure that the pad hasn’t come dislodged.
Try rebooting the robot by holding down the power button on the robot for 10 seconds. Hold the button again for 3 seconds to turn it back on. Doing so should clear the error from the robot's memory. Try running Roomba® again.
400/500 Series:
1. If the mop tray falls off next to furniture or power cables, the root cause is collision and friction with surrounding obstacles. Reattach the mop tray, and the robot will return to normal operation.
2. If the mop tray keeps falling off in open spaces, take off the mop tray and test by mounting it alternately on the left and right slots.
-
You can also test magnet polarity by holding the two mop pad holders up to each other, facing opposite directions, to see if they attract. If they do, then one of the magnets is reversed and both should be replaced.
3. If the above operations fail to eliminate the malfunction, upgrade the robot to the latest firmware. Reboot the device once the upgrade finishes, reinstall the mop tray and run another test.
