Roomba® s Series: How do I replace the right or left wheel module?

Follow these steps to replace the right wheel module

1. Open the lid and remove the bin.
2. Close the lid and place the robot vacuum upside down on a flat surface.
3. Using a screwdriver, loosen the four screws securing the cleaning head module.
4. Loosen the four screws that retain the bottom cover.
5. Remove the bottom cover.
6. Using two hands, remove the cleaning head module.
7. Locate the latch on the inside of the bin well. Press on the latch and pull up on the wheel module to remove it.
8. Replace the new module and press down to secure it.
9. Reinstall the cleaning head.
10. Reinstall the bottom cover and tighten all eight screws ensuring the bottom cover is flush with all sensors.
11. Flip the robot over. Reinstall the bin and close the lid.

Follow these steps to replace the left wheel module

1. Open the lid and remove the bin.
2. Place the robot vacuum upside down on a flat surface.
3. Using a screwdriver, loosen the four screws securing the cleaning head module.
4. Loosen the four screws that retain the bottom cover.
5. Remove the bottom cover.
6. Using two hands, remove the cleaning head module.
7. Lift the cliff sensor to access the left wheel module.
8. Locate the latch on the inside of the bin well. Press on the latch and pull up on the wheel module to remove it.
9. Replace the new module and press down to secure it.
10. Press down on the cliff sensor.
11. Reinstall the cleaning head.
12. Reinstall the bottom cover and tighten all eight screws ensuring the bottom cover is flush with all sensors.
13. Flip the robot over. Reinstall the bin and close the lid.
