Error 353 indicates the robot is detecting that the evacuation bag may be full, which can prevent debris from evacuating into the dock. Please remove the evacuation bag and inspect it. If the bag is full, replace it with a new one. If it is not full, give it a light shake to loosen any particles or debris before reinstalling it.

  • Please make sure you are using iRobot® authentic bags.
  • Bags should NOT be reused. You can purchase replacement bags here.
  • Ensure that the robot is fully docked when removing or replacing the bag; otherwise, the error may persist.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If replacing the bag does not clear the error 353, please try evacuating debris without the bag installed by following these instructions:

With your robot on the dock, open the Roomba® HOME App. In the app, click on your robot name, then click on Dock controls, and press the Empty Bin button. The button may be grayed out, but it will appear green again once the bag is removed. Remove the bag and press the evacuate button, even though the bag is not installed. Don’t worry, the robot will not actually evacuate when the bag is removed. Performing this sequence should set things back to normal. Put the bag back in and try evacuating once more to confirm the error has cleared.
