The dirty water tank in the dock has been removed. The process of washing the pad requires that the dirty water tank be installed.

This error would occur as soon as the tank is removed from the dock and cleared when putting it back in the dock.

 

If the dirty water tank is installed properly, but the error 653 persists, please follow these troubleshooting steps to clear the error:

  1. Ensure the robot is docked properly.


    Roomba® Plus 400 & Plus 500 Series
    Roomba® Plus 600, Max 700, and Max 800 Combo  
  2. Remove the dirty water tank and see if there are any obstructions that could be blocking the tank from being fully installed.

  3. Reinstall the empty dirty water tank.

  4. Reboot the dock by unplugging it and plugging it back in again.

  5. Try washing the pad again.
