To keep Roomba cleaning at peak performance, the bin should be emptied, and the filter should be inspected and cleared of dust and debris after each use. The filter is designed to keep the vacuum free of dirt and debris. Cleaning the filter will ensure maximum cleaning effectiveness. Please use the following procedure to regularly maintain the Roomba 400 series bin and filter.

Press the bin release button and pull to remove the bin.

Empty the bin.

Clean the filter compartment, and then clean or replace the filter.

Before reinserting the bin, remember to inspect and clean the brushes and side brush.
If the filter is punctured, replace it immediately. Please visit the iRobot Store - Parts and Accessories, use an authorized retailer or partner, or contact iRobot Customer Care to purchase replacement filters.
