Charging Error 4 and 5: All Roomba® and Braava® Models

« Go Back
Article Details

Charging errors four (4) and five (5) mean that electrical current is not reaching the robot.

The robot loosing charge could be caused by either the robot, the battery, the Home/Clean Base or the Power Line Cord.

1. Ensure the plug is secured into both the Home/Clean base and power outlet. If you have a Clean Base, lift the lid to make sure there is a red light on the base.

2. A common cause is debris on the Home/Clean Base charging contacts. Please clean the charging contacts to clear this error.

Note: Damaged contacts could also prevent your robot from charging. If the contacts are green or copper colored, or stuck down, they are damaged and the robot or base with the damaged contacts needs to be replaced.

3. If your Roomba®/Braava® robot vacuum is still having difficulty charging, remove and reinstall the battery, this effectively reboots the robot and should clear the error. Always make sure you are using an authentic Robot® Lithium-Ion Battery. Unknown charging errors can occur with aftermarket purchased batteries.
