Error sixty-six (66) means your robot has run out of memory during a cleaning mission.

Reconnect
If your robot is not connected to the app, please reconnect it now. For help, visit this article, “Cloud and Wi-Fi Connectivity Troubleshooting Guide.”
Please also make sure your robot and app are on the latest software version.
-
Reboot
You may see the robot return to its dock and reboot itself. If your robot has not rebooted on its own, or if you are not sure it did, please reboot the robot now.
This should clear the error. Please try running the robot again.

Are you trying to create a map?
When your robot is creating a map, it is continually adding information to its memory. If the space the robot is mapping out is too large for the robot's memory, the robot will eventually run out of memory, head back to the dock, and report this error message 66.

Imprint™ Smart Maps can have an unlimited number of rooms, provided each map does not exceed the suggested maximum map size:
-
Up to 3000 ft² (279 m²) - All Roomba s series
-
Up to 2500 ft² (232 m²) - All Roomba 105, 205, 405, 505, 705 (Vac), 705 (Combo) series and Roomba i6/i6+, i7/i7+, i8/i8+, j7/j7+, Combo j7+, Combo i8/i8+, Combo j5/j5+, j9/j9+, Combo j9+*, Combo 10 Max models
-
Up to 1600 ft² (148 m²) - Roomba i3/i3+, i4/i4+, i5/i5+, Combo i5/i5+ models
*The robot can mop for 1000 ft² before needing to refill at the dock.
If multiple maps are saved in the app, delete any unused maps, as this will free up memory. Try another mission after deleting any unused maps.
If the issue persists in a smaller home, we would recommend Direct Room Cleaning missions. During such missions, the robot will not look for new space.
- Factory Reset
If the issue persists, you can try performing a factory reset on your robot. A factory reset will revert the robot to factory settings. This will delete any saved data, and you will need to set up the robot again. We recommend that you don’t save your maps during this process and instead create a new map after resetting. This troubleshooting step is the final step for clearing the error.
If the message persists after performing a Factory Reset and creating a new map, please contact iRobot Customer Care.
