The Roomba® 900 series error messages chart.

Roomba® will tell you something is wrong with a blinking troubleshooting indicator and a two-tone “uh-oh” sound followed by a narrated voice. Refer to the following chart. Error messages can be repeated by pressing the CLEAN button. If Roomba® is turned on, you can also press the bumper to repeat the message. If the message persists, please contact iRobot Customer Care.

Error one (1).
“Place Roomba on a flat surface then press CLEAN to restart.”

Roomba® is stuck with its left or right wheel hanging down.

Error two (2).
“Clear Roomba's debris extractors, then press CLEAN to restart.”

The extractors can’t turn.

Error five (5).
“Left/Right. Clear Roomba's wheel, then press CLEAN to restart.”

The left or right wheel is stuck.

Error six (6).
“Move Roomba to a new location then press CLEAN to restart.”

The cliff sensors are dirty, it is hanging over a drop, or it is stuck on a dark surface.

Error eight (8).
“Please open the iRobot App for help.”

The fan is stuck or its filter is clogged.

Vacuum Bin

Error nine (9).
“Tap Roomba's bumper, then press CLEAN to restart.”

The bumper is stuck, or the bumper sensor is dirty.

“Left/Right. Please open the iRobot App for help.”

The left or right wheel is not moving.

Roomba® has an internal error.

Vacuum Bin

Error fourteen (14).
“Re-install Roomba’s bin then press CLEAN to restart.”

The bin has a bad connection to the robot.

Error sixteen (16).
“Place Roomba on a flat surface then press CLEAN to restart.”

Roomba® has started while moving or at an angle, or was bumped while running.

Ensure Roomba is not tilted.

Error seventeen (17).
“Please open the iRobot App for help.”

The cleaning job is incomplete.

Ensure the robot's path is not blocked.

Error eighteen (18).
“Please open the iRobot App for help.”

Roomba® cannot return to the Home Base® or starting position.

Ensure proper Home Base set-up.

Error nineteen (19).
“Please open the iRobot App for help.”

A cliff sensor is activated near the docking area.

Check the environment of the Home Base.
